Abstract
PURPOSE:To prevent the production of drop noise of effluent, by a method wherein one or more of auxiliary weirs, consisting of a flexible film undulating weir being lower than a main weir, are installed at the down-stream side of the main weir in a manner to contact the main weir or at a distance. CONSTITUTION:An auxiliary undulating weir 3, having a lower height than that of a main undulating weir 2, is placed at a riverbed at the down-stream side of the weir 2 in a manner to contact the main weir 2 or at a proper distance, and another flexible film 1 covers the tops of the weirs 2 and 3 in a manner to enclose the weirs 2 and 3. One end of the flexible film 1 is secured or coupled to the riverbed at the upstream side and in a direction crossing the river, and the other end is fastened or coupled to the riverbed at the downstream side of the undulating weir 3 and in a direction crossing the river. Water 8 overflowing the undulating weir 2 flows down over the flexible film 1, and thereby the effluent has a gentle drop slope to enable the reduction in noise produced due to dropping of the effluent. Additionally, the flexible film 1 may be eliminated.
