Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent the occurrence of noise resulting from the falling of overflowing warer from a dam by using a system in which a wire is laid along a dam on the top of the dam and a baffle sheet is attached to the wire in such a way as to divergently drop the overflowing water. CONSTITUTION:Plural struts 3 are aligned and fixed on the top of a rising and falling dam body made of a flexible film, a wire 4, e.g., wire rope, etc., is laid tensely across the struts, the upper end of a baffle sheet 5, e.g., rubber sheet, etc., is attached to the wire 4 continuously in the cross sectional direction, and the lower end of the sheet 5 is extended from at least the falling point of overflowing water to the downstream side. The overflowing water is thus divided into two flows by the baffle sheet 5, and the turbulent flows of the falling water is rectified and also the falling speed of the falling water is reduced. Thus, the occurrence of noise resulting from the falling the overflowing water can be prevented. Also, the wire may be tensely and directly laid across both banks without the use of the struts 3.
