Abstract

PURPOSE:To remove oxygen effectively from the inside of the gas in a food storage vessel or the like by providing a gas flow part along the porous cathode surface of a deoxidizing device, and flowing air or the like forcibly. CONSTITUTION:A vessel 1 is communicated with the gas flow part 4 of a deoxidizing device 2 by means of two opening parts. The part 4 is provided in contact with the porous cathode 6 of the device 2, and the oxygen in the atmosphere is fed through this cathode 6 into the electrolyte 7 in contact with the other face side. When negative voltage is applied to the cathode 6 and positive voltage to anode 8, and the air in the vessel 1 is fed into the part 4, the oxygen in the part 4 is taken into the electrolyte 7, and OH<-> ions are carried to the anode 8 which generates oxygen. Thereby, the amt. of the oxygen in the air is decreased and the air is again circulated in the vessel 1. By this mechanism, the oxygen is removed effectively and the device is reduced of size.
