Abstract
PURPOSE:To remove oxygen dissolved in a liquid by a method in which oxygen in the air is removed in an electrolytic bath provided with a gas diffusion cathode and an oxygen-generating anode, and then the deoxydized air is released in bubbles into a liquid. CONSTITUTION:An electrolyte 4 composed of 30% KOH aqueous solution is electrolyzed using a gas diffusion cathode 2 and a porous Ni anode 3, where oxygen is generated from the anode 3 and released from an outlet 6 to the outside, and at the same time air in a gas chamber 5 in contact with the cathode 2 is circulated with air inside a deoxydized atmosphere chamber 9 by means of a pump 7. Oxygen in the air of the gas chamber 5 is consumed by the cathode 2 and then released from the anode through the electrolyte 4, so that the amount of oxygen contained is greatly reduced. The deoxydized air is released in bubbles into a liquid 10 inside a container 11 provided in the deoxydized atmosphere chamber 9 by means of a pump 12. Thus, oxygen dissolved in the liquid is removed in company with air bubbles and therefore, the amount of oxygen in the liquid 10 can be greatly reduced.
