Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve records of flotation in bulk flotation of copper and lead from ores contg. sulfide ores of copper, lead, zinc, iron, etc. by adding SO2 or sulfite and thiourea.
CONSTITUTION: In the stage of performing bulk flotation of copper and lead from ores contg. sulfide ores of copper, lead, zinc, iron, etc., SO2 or sulfite is added to ore liquid, after which a small amt. of thiourea is added thereto. In this case, as the amt. of addition of the thiourea is larger, the zinc ore is suppressed more, but when it increases in excess of a certain amt., the floatability of the copper ore is insufficient and therefore an optimum amt. of addition exists. If the amt. of addition of SO2 or sulfite is large, all the ores are suppresed when the thiourea is used in combination and since this makes the separation infeasible, a stage of mixing air is required to be inserted after the addition of SO2 or sulfite in such a case.
