Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a catalyst which is superior in ozone decomposing power at relatively low temp. and has durability by adding a specific ratio of anoxide of Co to MnO2 as an ozone decomposing catalyst. CONSTITUTION:An oxide of Co such as the product of precipitation of cobalt nitrate and sodium hydroxide having 1-20%, more preferably 5-15% in terms of atom % of Co is added to MnO2 as an ozone decomposing catalyst. The catalyst obtained in this way has superior ozone decomposing performance at <=100 deg.C temp. and has durability, whereby it is the superior ozone decmposing catalyst.
