Abstract

PURPOSE:To enable to keep the scanning interval constant independently of change in the mobile speed of an object, by detecting the change in the mobile speed of the object and correcting the scanning position of optical beam on the object in response to this detected value. CONSTITUTION:Optical beam scanning is made on the object 6 of a document or a film with optical beam obtained by scanning electron beam on a cathode ray tube 5 in two-dimension at a vertical driving circuit 2 and a horizontal driving circuit 4. The reflected light or transmitted light is photoelectric-converted with photoelectric conversion elements 7 and 8 to obtain output signals 9 and 10. A mobile speed of the object 6 is detected at a rotary encoder 11 and this detected value is compared with a reference value at a horizontal signal generating circuit 12 to correct a horizontal scanning signal in response to the increase/decrease from the reference value, allowing to correct the reference point of horizontal scanning of the cathode ray tube 5 in response to a variance in the mobile speed of the object 6.
