Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain a high-quality pattern by obtaining two picture signals or more in a high density when the pattern information is scanned for the photoelectric conversion and then selecting the signal in correspondence to the fixed level to then send it into the input device.
CONSTITUTION: Paper surface 101 with the pattern drawn on is shifted via paper feeding mechanism 108, and at the same time the illumination is given via linear illuminating means 102. Then the reflected light from surface 101 is projected for image formation to one-dimensional self-scan type photo detector array 104 functioning as a sensor and via lens 103. At this instance, the scale-down ratio is determined for these optical systems as follows: the resolution corresponding to two picture elements may be obtained to one unit of the picture element featuring the resolution which is needed by the input device. After this, the output of array 104 is amplified through amplifying circuit 105. Then a smaller picture element is used among the outputs of two sensor elements corresponding to one picture element and via arithmetic circuit 106 in order to secure the time output. In such way, the thin line is obtained accurately to be applied to the input device.
