Abstract
PURPOSE: To prepare the titled compound having wide application range in pharmaceuticals and pesticides, etc., simply by reacting an easily available carboxylic acid amide with an alkoxyethylamine derivative which can be prepared easily by the reaction of a chloroacetal derivative with ammonia.
CONSTITUTION: The imidazole compound of formula III (R1 is H, alkyl or phenyl)(e.g. imidazole) can be prepared by reacting (A) 1 equivalent of the alkoxyethylamine derivative of formulaI(R is alkyl or two Rs together form alkylene)(e.g. 2,2-diethoxy-ethylamine) with (B) 2.5W6 equivalent of the carboxylic acid amide derivative of formula II (e.g. formamide), while removing the by- products from the reaction system. Since no solvent is used in the reaction, the objective compound can be separated by direct distillation.
EFFECT: The post-treatment is also extremely simple.
