Abstract
PURPOSE:To change a carrying speed of a slip, and to increase a processing speed of a slip, without receiving a physical shock, by making a field of view of a scanner in case of scanning for detecting a line, different from a field of view of a scanner for recognizing a pattern. CONSTITUTION:A field of view of the first scanner 10 is made to the front in the carrying direction of a slip, a field of view of the second scanner 11 is made to the rear of a slip, a line detecting means 12 is connected to the output side of this scanner 10, and a line detecting signal of a character line is outputted from a line detecting circuit 122 of the means 12. Also, a pattern recognizing means 13 having a pattern memory 132 is connected to the scanner 11, and a pattern recognition is executed in accordance with an output signal of the scanner 11. An output of a recognition part 133 of this recognizing means 13, and a line detecting signal of the circuit 122 are provided to a controlling circuit 15. When the detecting signal is ''false'', a carrying speed of a slip is made high, and when the detecting signal is ''true'' and also the recognizing means 13 is in an operation state, the carrying speed of a slip is made zero, and in case when the recognizing means 13 is not in an operation state, the carrying speed of a slip is made low, and the recognizing means 13 is operated.
