Abstract

PURPOSE: To enhance denitration efficiency as well as to reduce a consumption amount of NaClO2 and to prevent ClO2 from being discharged into the atmosphere by utilizing such a phenomenon that an NOx-cntaining gas is introduced into an aqueous NaClO2 solution to easily generate ClO2.
CONSTITUTION: The gas to be treated from an NOx generating source 1 is divided into two systems by a distributing valve 4 and one of them is sent into the lower part of a NaClO2 washing tower 6 by an arranged pipe 5 to be subjected to countercurrent contact with an aqueous NaClO2 solution. In this case, the gas to be treated is subjected to absorptive removal of NOx contained therein as well as sent into the bypass arranged pipe 10 of an NaClO2 washing tower of the other gas to be treated divided into two systems through a tower top pipe 9 as a gas containing newly formed ClO2 and, after mixed in the gas to be treated bypassing the NaClO2 washing tower 6, sent into an alkali washing tower 11 to be subjected to absorptive removal of the NOx component and discharged into the atmosphere as the treated gas from the tower top thereof through a discharge pipe 14.
