Abstract

PURPOSE: To separate nitrogen and carbon dioxide or nitrogen and oxygen in air by utilizing differece of solubility of a gas component to a liquid.
CONSTITUTION: After a water cooler 14 and an air cooler 15 are operated, rotary pumps 10, 11 for pumping up a carbon dioxide.oxygen conveying liquid are simultaneously operated to recirculate the above described liquid 1 between a carbon dioxide.oxygen absorbing tank 2 and a discharge tank 3. After this operation, a heater 13 is operated to hold the above described liquid 1 in the discharge tank 3 at a temp. in the vicinity of the boiling point thereof and a rotary pump 12 for pouring air in a sealed chamber is operated to send air in the sealed chamber into an absorbing tank 2. After this operation, the pump 12 is stopped and the above described liquid 1 in the discharge tank 3 is cooled to a temp. in the vicinity of a room temp. and the pumps 11, 12 are simultaneously stopped and the operation of the coolers 14, 15 is stopped. As the result, the carbon dioxide component and the oxygen component in the mixed gas are entirely discharged into the atmosphere and most of the nitrogen component is recovered in the sealed chamber.
