Abstract

PURPOSE:To facilitate automatic start and unmanned operation and make it unnecessary for the crew to report for work early in the morning by storing hot water produced by utilization of an exhaust gas economizer or cold water in the space of a connecting water path of an anti-rolling tank of a passenger ship for air conditioning. CONSTITUTION:In winter, a central unit 12 of an air conditioner for cabins is connected to a hot water tank 8 through a hot water circulating pump 11 to constitute a hot water heater. A hot water circulating pump 11 and a fan 13 of the central unit 12 are connected to the power supply in the ship through a timer. One or two days before heating is started, steam produced by an exhaust gas economizer 10 utilizing the exhaust heat from the main engine under a voyage is fed to a heating pipe 9 to heat the water in the hot water tank 8 to about 90 deg.C. In summer, an absorption refrigerating machine 15 is connected to the hot water tank 8 through the hot water circulating pump 14, and also the central unit 12 is connected to the refrigerating machine 15 through a cold water cooler, and hot water is stored in the tank 8 in the same way as in winter and is fed to the refrigerating machine 15.
