Abstract

PURPOSE:To enable to supply hot water irrespective of cooling and heating operation in an air conditiner which employs a thermal engine as a compressor drive source by containing a hot water supply heat exchanger in an exhaust gas muffler and supplying fuel to the muffler at the time of supplying hot water to burn the fuel. CONSTITUTION:A refrigeration cycle is composed by circularly piping a compres sor 13 driven by a thermal engine 19, a four-way valve 14, an indoor heat exchanger 11, pressure reducing elements 9, 17, and an outdoor heat exchanger 15. A water heat exchanger 24 connected to a cooling heat exchanger 21 and a hot water heat exchanger 25 are contained in an exhaust gas muffler 22 of the engine 19, and hot water in the heat exchanger 24 is branched and supplied through a three-way valve 26 to an outdoor heat radiator 27 or an indoor heat radiator 12. Fuel and air are supplied to a catalytic muffler 22 from supply tubes 31, 32 at the time of supplying hot water to burn the fuel, water introduced from a supply port 30 is supplied to the heat exchanger 25 to heat it, and is produced as hot water from a hot water supply port 29.
