Abstract
PURPOSE:To save energy and to improve productivity, by storing a steel strip hot rolled and coiled at high temp. in a heat insulated warehouse to reserve it holding heat, and utilizing the heat for heating acid liquid for pickling. CONSTITUTION:A strip coil 2, produced in a hot roling mill and coiled at high temp., is carried into a heat insulated warehouse 3 to store for a while. The temp. of the coil 2 drops but gradually, because many high temp. coils are always stored in the warehouse 3 wherein heat is insulated. Accordingly, the coils 2 stand by ready in a heat insulated state in the warehouse 3. Thereafter, the coils 2 are carried out successively from the warehouse 3 to an uncoiler 8 at the side of a pickling equipment 7, and are dipped in and passed through acid bath in tank to be subjected to a descaling treatment. As the coil before pickling has a proper temp., the temp. of the equipment 7 is raised and maintained by the holding heat of the coil 2, after heating the equipment 7 only during the beginning of operation.
