Abstract
PURPOSE:To save energy and to improve productivity, by heat insulating a steel strip hot rolled and coild at high temp. with a cover of container, and utilizing its holding heat for heating acid liquid for pickling. CONSTITUTION:A steel strip coil 2, produces in a hot rolling mill and coiled at high temp., is carried to a storing yard 3 to be stored at a prescribed place and is covered by a container 5 for a while. The temp. of the coil 2 drops, but gradually owing to the container 5. Accordingly, the coil 2 stands by ready in the yard 3 in a heat insulated state. Thereafter, the coils are carried out successively to be transferred to an uncoiler 9 placed at the side of a pickling equipment 7, and are dipped in and passed through acid bath in tank to be subjected to a descaling treatment. As the coil before pickling has a proper temp., the temp. of the equipment 7 is raised and maintained by the holding heat of the coil 2, after heating the equipment 7 only during the beginning of operation.
