Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain a reflection preventing film which has the same strength as the conventional reflection preventing film and is superior in reflection preventing effect, by vapor-depositing a glass layer, an SiO layer, and an SiO2 layer with specific thickness onto an optical member made from synthetic resin. CONSTITUTION:The first layer 3 consisting of glass with 2-10mu thickness, the second layer 4 consisting of SiO with lambda/4-lambda/16 thickness, and the third layer 5 consisting of SiO2 or glass with lambda/4-lambda/16 thickness are vapor-deposited successively onto an optical member 2 made from synthetic resin such as a spectacle lens. Thus, a sufficient strength is obtained, and the difference of the refractive index between the second layer and the third layer is large to obtain a high reflection preventing effect because SiO having a high refractive index is used as materials of the second layer.
