Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a steel plate which is superior in drawability and bulgeability and is free from age deterioration despite annealing in a box annealing furnace or a continuous annealing furnace by hot-rolling steel of specific composition at specific temps., and cold-rolling the same then annealing the same. CONSTITUTION:Steel of 0.001-0.05 C by weight %, 0.1-0.4 Mn, <=0.1 Al, <=0.01 N, >=4 Ti/C+N (Ti; excluding oxide and sulfide) and the balance iron and unavoidable impurities is subjected cold rolling then annealing after it has undergone hot rolling at 700-780 deg.C. Here, the excess of C results in increased tensile strength and degraded plastic strain ratio gamma value, requiring an increase in the amount of Ti. The shortage of Mn makes it impossible to prevent embrittling by S during hot rolling and the excess thereof results in degraded gamma value. The excess of Al degrades workability and weldability. The excess of N requires an increase in the amount of Ti, and causes age deterioration on account of remained solid soln. N. Ti couples C and N to prevent age deterioration and improve workability. The end temps. of hot rolling are limited because the gamma value is good between these.
