Abstract

PURPOSE:To divide the output of the overvoltage detecting circuit of a switching power supply circuit into two and connect one output to the gate of a switching transistor to perform a quick-response operation and connect the other to an integrating circuit to perform a time-lagged operation. CONSTITUTION:A voltage converting circuit 13, a smoothing circuit 14, and a voltage controlling circuit 17 constitute an output voltage control loop, and the voltage converting circuit 13 is driven by the output of the controlling circuit 17 to stabilize the power supply output. When an overvoltage is generated between output terminals (c) and (d), an overvoltage detecting circuit 18 is operated, and the inhibition gate of the voltage converting circuit 13 is closed by one output of outputs of the circuit 18 to stop the operation of the circuit 13, thus preventing the increment of the output voltage. The other output of the overvoltage detecting circuit 18 is supplied to an integrating circuit 16; and when a short-time overvoltage which does not reach a reference voltage of a voltage comparing circuit 15 is generated many times continuously to exceed the reference voltage of the circuit 15, an alarm is transmitted to a part 11 through a driving circuit 12, and the inhibition gate of the voltage converting circuit 13 is closed to stop the operation.
