Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain internal peripheral blade edges of a blade thickness as thin as possible by immersing a base plate into a nickel plating solution dispersed with super abrasive particles; diamond particles, etc., and then treating it with chemical etching. CONSTITUTION:A base plate 4 is made of an electric conductive material; aluminum, etc.; with a round hole 10 provided at its center. The surface 5 of this disc type base plate 4 is finished by lapping followed by deoxidation cleaning. All surfaces of this disc are coated with insulating film except this surface 5. The base plate 4 is then immersed in nickel plating solution dispersed with super adrasive particles; diamond particles, etc.; so that a layer of abrasive particles is built up all over on the surface 5 due to galvanizing action. After the formation of abrasive particle layer, the base plate 4 is treated by chemical ethcing with its outer peripheral eage tightly protected by masks. Except the outer peripheral eage portion, the portion of the base plate without mask is dissolved and the internal edge of a thin blade thickness can be obtained.
