Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a mixer capable of performing effecting mixing in a mixer for a mixture contg. >=2 phases of components such as waste water, chemical treatment or the like by providing a mixture injection nozzle sucking the component in the upper part thereof in a stagnating vessel. CONSTITUTION:For example, in activated sewage treatment, return sludge is returned from a settling basin through conduits 10, 12 to an aeration tank. A sealed type stagnating vessel 14 is provided between the conduits 10 and 12, and a mixture of the return sludge through a conduit 16 in the upper part thereof and the oxygen supplied through a valve 18 is introduced. The conduit 16 is approximately cylindrical and the opening in the upper part thereof is connected to the conduit 10, and its bottom end opening extends into the stagnating mixture in the vessel 14. It has a suction opening 20 in its side part, and an injection nozzle 22 consisting of an orifice is formed near said opening. As a result, the return sludge and the oxygen are throughly agitated and mixed when injected from the nozzle 22, and the unmixed oxygen remaining in the upper part of the vessel 14 is sucked through the opening 20 into the conduit 16 and is again used for dissolution.
