Abstract

PURPOSE: To conduct the smooth and even transition of ink by a method wherein gravure cells are mutually communicated by thin gooves, and a contact area between a material to be printed and ink is extended using the cells as a large aggregate through a capillary phenomenon.
CONSTITUTION: The cells 2 are formed so that a pair of opposing sides shape an angle θ1 to a base line A-A and another one pair of opposing sides form an angle θ2 when the base line A-A is taken in the rotary axis direction of a printing roll. These angles have the relationship of 0<θ1<90° and 90°<θ2<180°, and the angle θ1 that the cells 2 shape to a roll axis is normally 45°. The thin grooves of 10W100 micron width and 50W500 micron pitches mutually communicate the corner sections of the adjacent cells 2, facilitate the generation of the capillary phennomenon using the cells as the large aggregate partially combined, and keep an extent of the contact area between the material to be printed and ink.
