Abstract

PURPOSE: To form continuously an uniform and clear-cut pattern on the surface of a sheet by the procedure in which a powder is supplied into a rotary cylinder screen with a powder-permeable portion and a powder-nonpermeable portion and then the screen and the long sheet are run synchronously with each other while being touched with each other.
CONSTITUTION: The powder 3 is put in the rotary cylinder screen 4 with the powder-permeable portion 5 and the powder-nonpermeable portion 7, which are formed by boring at the same shape positions as the pattern 2 to be formed on the long sheet 1, and then the screen 4 and the sheet 1 are run with equal peripheral speed while being touched with each other, preferably in facial contact manner by widening the admission side of the screen, i.e., by touching it with a higher position of the screen.
