Abstract
PURPOSE:To improve a keeping quality and leakage resistance of a silver peroxide battery by providing a coat layer containing at least one of cadmium and tellurium on the inner wall of a positive electrode can. CONSTITUTION:A positive electrode material 3 which is formed from a mixture of silver peroxide powder and fluororesin powder and is coated with a silver layer 2 on its surface, a separator 4, and an electrode impregnant 5 are housed in a positive electrode can 1, and a coat layer 9 containing at least one of cadmium and tellurium is provided on the inner wall of the positive electrode can 1. The thickness of the coat layer 9 is 5 to 120mum, and plating, cladding, or coating can be used for methods to provide the coat layer. Cadmium alone, a cadmium-tellurium alloy, or a cadmium-tellurium-thallium alloy can be used for plating. Cadmium-nickel or stainless steel, cadmium-tellurium alloy-nickel or stainless steel can be used for cladding, and the coat layer clad with nickel or stainless steel is provided on the inner wall of the positive electrode can.
