Abstract
PURPOSE:To reduce the size of the entire part of a titled device by so constituting the same that the waveform of output electric current can be controlled to a prescribed waveform in a short circuit state without using any DC reactor. CONSTITUTION:When the output terminal of an AC-DC converter 8 short-circuits, the output of a comparator 40 goes to the 0 level, and a capacitor 36 is charged, thence the successively increasing charging voltage is supplied to an adder 30. Hence, an error amplifier 26 makes error amplification of the charging voltage added with reference voltage Ss1 and the voltage of a shunt 28, and a control circuit 16 controls the switching transistor of a high frequency inverter 4 by means of this output. Thereupon if the vaues of a resistor 34 and the capacitor 36 are set at proper values, the output current can be controlled. The circuit 16 controls the switching transistor of the circuit 4 so as to make the output voltage constant in such a way that the output current of the value above the min. current for sustaining the arc is flowed by the output of an error amplifier 17 when the arc state is attained after the end of the short circuit state.
