Abstract

PURPOSE:Not only to increase the heat dissipation effect but to reduce the electric resistance of a coil part and thus to realize the close tracks of a multitrack thin-film magnetic head, by providing a common earth conductor layer of a high heat conductivity under a lower magnetic substance and connecting an end of a signal coil to to the lower magnetic substance. CONSTITUTION:A common earth conductor layer 15 having a high heat conductivity is provided on a substrate 14, and a lower magnetic substance layer 1b and an insulator layer 16b of a prescribed pattern are laminated successively on the layer 15. An electric conductor is provided on the lsminated layer, and then a bonding pad 5, a signal coil 4 and a common earth connection part 12 are formed by means of a photoetching technique. (The part 12, an end of the coil 4 is connected electrically to the layer 1b.) An insulator layer 16a is provided to cover the coil 4, and an upper magnetic substance layer 1a is formed on the layer 16a to obtain a magnetic head. The signal current flows in order in a route of the pad 5, the coil 4, the part 12, the layer 1b and the layer 15.
