Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain compactness by integrating a coil for application of a magnetic field into an element. CONSTITUTION:An insulating film 12 such as silicon dioxide (SiO2) is formed on a surface of a silicon substrate 11 and a lower layer conductor segment 13 is formed on it. Furthermore on it an insulating film 14 of SiO2 is formed, and magneto resistive segments 15A, 15B are formed to take a specified pattern. An insulating film 16 of SiO2 is formed to cover the magneto resisstive segment 15, and an upper layer conductor segment 17 is formed on the surface of it. A tip 17a of an upper layer conductor segment 17 is connected to a lower conductor segment 13a, and another tip 17b is connected to another lower conductor segment 13b next to the former lower layer conductor segment 13. By this connection between both upper and lower conductor segments a coil is formed of both conductor segments. By applying a direct current voltag between both terminals a magnetic field is generated.
