Abstract
PURPOSE: To provide an additive which make it possible to reduce the amount of oil in the granulation of pulverized coal in an aq. slurry with oil, and gives larger granule than that obtd. by conventional methods even when oil is used in the same amount as that required by the conventional methods, consisting of an oil-soluble high- molecular compd. and, if necessary, a surfactant and an inorg. electrolyte.
CONSTITUTION: An additive for granulation and deashing, which is added to an aq. slurry in the wet-process granulation of pulverized coal with oil, consists of an oil-soluble high-molecular compd. such a polymn. type resin as an ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer, an ethylene-(meth)acrylate copolymer, synthetic butadiene rubber or PVC, or such a condensation type resin as a polymerized fatty acid polyamide and, if necessary, a surfactant such as a nonionic surfactant, an anionic surfactant or a mixture thereof (an alkylolamide nonionic surfactant being particularly preferred) and/or an inorg. electrolyte such as NaH2PO4 or Na2SO4. Even when the amount of oil to be used is considerably reduced, granule having the substantially same particle size as that of granule obtd. by conventional methods can be obtd. When oil is used in the same amount as that of oil required for conventional methods, granule having a particle size larger than that of granule obtd. by conventional methods can be obtd.
