CONSTITUTION: 1,6,11-Triaminoundecane dissolved in aqueous metahanol is brought into contact with a more than stoichiometric amount of hydrogen chloride gas to form 1,6,11-triaminoundecane trihydrochloride. The product is crystallized out in acetone, washed with acetone and dried under normal or reduced pressure to remove methanol, acetone and water completely, thus giving the objective compound. The crystallization is very efficiently effected, when a vessel made of a water-repellent material such as polyethylene is used for crystallization.
