Abstract

PURPOSE: When sodium percarbonate is continuously produced by reaction between sodoium carbonate and hydrogen peroxide, the particle size distribution and the particle size of the sodium percarbonate are specified in a certain range to produce high-purity product of high storage stability in a short time.
CONSTITUTION: In the reaction vessel, a reaction solution is prepared from sodium carbonate, hydrogen peroxide and water and it is stirred at the reaction temperature of 15W20°C. An aqueous solution of sodium carbonate and hydrogen peroxide is added at a prescribed rate to the reaction solution and the sodium percarbonate, crystallizing out, is continuously taken out of the reaction vessel in the form of a slurry. The crystals of sodium percarbonate is separated from the slurry wherein a fraction whose more than 70% passes through 30 mesh sieve, less than 2% through 200 mesh and particle sizes range 200W300 microns is used to produce high-purity sodium percarbonate crystals with a nearly, theoretical value of hydrogen peroxide to sodium carbonate composition ratio, i.e. 0.481 efficiently.
