Abstract
PURPOSE: To enable the efficient operation of an air conditioner in which a compressor can be continuously controlled at variable speed to control the cooling and heating capacity steplessly by performing the maximum cooling and heating capacity of the air conditioner when the air conditioner is started with a large load.
CONSTITUTION: In a refrigerant cycle of the pump type, a compressor 3 installed in an outdoor unit 1 is driven by a motor 4 controlled at its rotating speed by a power source circuit 12, which is controlled by a speed instructing circuit 13 which generates a speed setting voltage Vs in accordance with signals from a room temperature detector 14 and a room temperature setting unit 15. To the circuit 13 are inputted output signals from a cooling and heating changeover switch 17, and an operation instructing unit 16 having a quick speed switch 18. This air conditioner is so constructed that a compressor 3 is automatically operated at the prescribed maximum rotating speed and the maximum rotating speed of the compressor 3 is limited at a value lower than the maximum rotating speed when the conditioner enters into the prescribed range of air conditioned state or after the prescribed period of time is elasped.
