Abstract
PURPOSE:To contrive the improvement of the operating property and the like of the air conditioner by a method wherein an outdoor unit and an indoor unit are connectd with each other by means of low voltage wiring, which is insulated from the commercial power line, and the operation of the outdoor unit is controlled while the capacity of a compressor is rendered to be changed in multistage by the signal from the indoor unit. CONSTITUTION:When the operating switch 13 of the indoor unit is ON, an indoor fan 8 is run and at the same time a direct current power supply circuit 14 outputs a direct current voltage as an operating signal VD. Furthermore, a temperature difference signal circuit 15 outputs a temperature difference signal VT in proportional to the difference of the outputs of a room temperature sensor 16 and of a room temperature setter 17. The outputted operating signal VD actuates a self-holding circuit 22 in the control circuit 12 of the outdoor unit 1 in order to close a contact 24, resulting in applying a direct current source voltage based upon a direct current power supply circuit 20 to a calculating circuit 21. As a result, the calculating circuit 21 controls the operation of the compressor 3 in response to the temperature difference signal VT and in addition stops the actuation of a compressor controlling circuit 34 in disregard of signals VD and VT at the occurrence of abnormality on the controlling of the compressor 3.
