When the trunk circuit 5 is connected to the service line 15 on a basis of the command from the control device 4 and the hook-on/off detecting function of the subscriber's circuit 2 is normal, the circuit 2 detects the closing of the loop of the line 16 and reports it to the control device 4 with the form of a hook-off signal. In this case, since the hook-off signal is a correct signal, the pass is discriminated by the discriminating function of the control device 4, thus completing the test for the hook-on/off detecting function of the subscriber's circuit.
