Abstract
PURPOSE:To develop with an electrically insulative toner which is not affected by humidity and has excellent electrical charging property even in an environment of lower humidity and provides clear images, by forming the surface of members (sleeve etc.) which charge electrically developing powder by friction, with a porous high polymer resin. CONSTITUTION:A multipolar permanent magnet 9, for example, is fixed and a nonmagnetic cylinder 4b is rotated in an arrow direction and an electrically insulative magnetic toner 11 consisting of one component is electrically charged by friction and then an electrostatic latent image on a photoreceptor 1 is developed. In this case, the material prepared by mixing a high polymer such as polyphenylene oxide with a solute such as polymer, which is soluble into the solvent insoluble for said high polymers, is covered onto the surface of the cylinder 4b. And then, a sleeve haveing a porous surface is formed after eluting above mentioned soluble polymer, etc. Thereby, the frictional resistance of the surface is increased and a uniform coating layer of toner is obtained even in lower humidity. Also, excellent fluidity of the toner is attained even in high humidity, and a clear development which does not occur unevenness of coating and flocculation of toners, etc. is performed.
