Abstract
PURPOSE: To improve the mechanical strength of a titled catalyst obtained by adding and mixing org. materials to claylike or powdery mateials contg. various kinds of specific metallic compounds then molding and firing and to make the high yield production of the intended product possible.
CONSTITUTION: Compounds of ≥1 kinds selected from respective compounds of Co, Ni, Fe, Mn and Cr, and respective compounds of Mo, Bi, Pb, and Sn are mixed in the presence of water. The resultant mixture is concd. or dried to a claylike or powdery material. Next, Org. materials such as cellulose, polyvinyl alcohol and gelatin are added and mixed at 1W10wt% to and with this claylike or powdery material (dry basis). Thence, the mixture is molded and the molding is fired, whereby the catalyst for oxidation of olefin used in a fixed bed reactor is prepd. This catalyst has ≥2,000Å average fine pore radii and 0.2W0.4cc/g fine pore volume.
