Abstract
PURPOSE:To improve the charging characteristic by providing grooves on a chlorine electrode face opposite to a zinc electrode of a zinc-chlorine cell. CONSTITUTION:A zinc-chlorine cell is constituted with a permeable chlorine electrode 1 made of porous graphite and the like, a zinc electrode, and an elecrolyte which is an aqueous solution of mainly zinc chloride and is permeated through said zinc electrode to cause an electrochemical reaction. Grooves 5 are provided on the chlorine electrode 1 face opposite to the zinc electrode. These grooves 5 prevent adherence of chlorine gas generated from the chlorine electrode 1 while charing, and prevent increase of charging voltage.
