Abstract

PURPOSE:To control the luminance of a display in the focusing settling state in accordance with the luminous intensity of an object image, by producing the signal corresponding to the luminous intensity of the object image on a solid- state image pickup element. CONSTITUTION:The electric charge transferred after being stored for a prescribed time in a photoelectric transducer CCD6 having three light receiving parts 6', 6'' and 6''' is supplied to a balance control circuit BA via a noise suppressing capacitor C and in the form of a picture signal. This picture signal supplied to a differential amplifier DIF to obtain the difference of the output signals of the 1st and 2nd sample holding circuits SHA and SHB. The output of the amplifier DIF is supplied to comparators COMPA and COMPB respectively, and the outputs of both comparators are supplied to a storing time control circuit AGC to secure a proper level for the dark current compensation signal. A display luminance modulating circuit MOD receives information A and B from the circuit AGC and then receives a pulse of a suitable frequency from a dynamic generator TMGE to decide the turn on/off periods for the diodes LEDA, LEDB and LEDC respectively.
