Abstract

PURPOSE:To achieve an excellent reproducing image, by storing an image pickup picture element of a pickup object to a respective CCD line sensor partly overlappingly, and compensating the difference between sensor characteristics through the level adjustment of a video signal outputted from the sensor. CONSTITUTION:A plurality of CCD line sensors C1-C4 are arranged overlappingly with adjacent image pickup devices of the sensors, the same region of objective is overlappingly picked up and a charge having an amount corresponding to an optical image of the same part. This stored charge is sequentially converted into a voltage synchronizing with a clock pulse from a control section S, applied to amplifiers A1-A4 for amplification, and the output is applied to pickup circuits N1-N6. An output picked up from a pair circuit of the circuits N1-N6 is applied to comparators L1-L3, the output is compared with a reference level LN or the value of one circuit N1 or N3, the deviation is applied to gain adjusting terminals I1-I4 of the amplifiers A1-A4 for the adjustment of level of the video signal. The difference of characteristics of the sensors C1-C4 is compensated and excellent reproducing image is outputted.
