Abstract

PURPOSE:To achieve an information recording body excellent in recording, good stability, easy manufacture and low cost, by forming the information recording medium with a thermoplastic resin which becomes transparent or opaque uniformly through heating and cooling. CONSTITUTION:On a base member 2 made of disc shape glass or plastic, a thin film made of heat sensing material 3 having a thickness of 5-50mum is formed to constitute an information recording body 1. The material 3 is mixture of a matrix member with an organic low molecular substance in the weight ratio of 3:1-16:1. As the matrix member, homopolymer or copolymer of polyester, polyamide or other thermoplastic resin is used, and as the organic low molecular substance, saturated or unsaturated mono or dicarboxylate, or its derivative is used. This member 3 becomes opaque when heated or cooled at two transit points t1, t2 (t1<t2) or more through the radiation of light beam, and becomes transparent when heated and cooled at a temperature between the t1 and t2. Thus, the information recording body of excellent recording, stable operation and easy manufacture and low cost can be achieved.
