Abstract
PURPOSE:To improve production efficiency by disposing heat treatment installations for steel plates to be directly water-cooled after hot-rolling in order of a heat insulator, a hot leveler and a water cooler behind the finishing mills. CONSTITUTION:Heat treatment installations for steel plates to be water-cooled directly after hot-rolling with finishing mills 1 are disposed in order of a heat insulator 3, a hot leveler 4 and a water cooler 5. Hence, the average temp. of the steel plate is raised by the heat insulator 3 provided before the hot leveler 3 and the cooler 5, and this results in the prevention of the drop of the temp. at the trailing end, thus there are no more restrictions in the length of rolled plates and workability is improved considerably. The insulator 3 consists of an upper cover 3-1 covering the top surface side of steel plate conveying rollers R and a lower cover 3-2 covering the bottom surface. Burners for combustion are provided in some cases to the cover 3-1.
