Abstract
PURPOSE:To facilitate the decision for the reflux state and the control of the reflux rate, by securing the easy external measurement of the reflux rate within a distilling column which carries out an internal reflux. CONSTITUTION:A chimney tray 2 is provided to a distilling column 1 and a V-shaped cut 3 is given to the upper edge part of the tray 2. The steam of the column 1 passes through the tray 2 and is cooled to be partially condensed. The condensed steam stays on the tray 2. A certain correlation is obtained between the reflux rate and the reflux level stayed on the tray 2 by the balance secured between the liquid rate overflowing through the cut 3 and that stayed on the tray 2. As a result, the liquid level is measured by a liquid level meter 4 linking with the inside of the column 1. Then the measured liquid level is substituted for an equation V=Kh<5/2> (K: constant; V: reflux rate and h: liquid level) to obtain the reflux rate.
