Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent electric potential rise of the neutral point and to enable to form an on-load tap changer in a small type by a method wherein doughtnut type arrester elements are inserted and connected at least on one side of an operating shaft between the earth potential part and the electric neutral point potential part of an on-load tap changing transformer. CONSTITUTION:Driving force applied from a quick-break driving mechanism 2 is transmitted to the operating shaft 21 through an insulated operating shaft 11. A movable contactor 14 for change-over of current is driven by the driving shaft 21, and is made to rotate and to come in contact with a fixed contactor 12. The operating shaft 21 is connected to a lower part metal fittings 17 through a metal fittings 15 and a lead wire 16 to be made to have the neutral point potential, and an upper part metal fittings 26 fixed to a flange 7 is made to have the earth potential. The doughnut type arrester elements 30 are inserted between an upper part supporting metal fittings 31 and a lower part supporting metal fittings 34 extending over the plural stages on the insulated operating shaft 11. Accordingly when the neutral point electric potential reaches the prescribed set point, a current is made to flow between the operating shaft 21 of the neutral point and the upper part metal fittings 26 to prevent electric potential rise, intensification of insulation is unnecessitated, insulation can be omitted, and reduction of weight and formation into a small type can be attained.
