With the elevation of the temperature of fixing instrument, the resistance of a thermistor 11 decreases gradually and the voltage of point (a) increases gradually. The outputs of comparators 23-25 are made high level successively by the voltage of point (a), turning on display elements 42-44 successively. When the fixing instrument reaches the fixing available temperature, the microcomputer 17 decides the fixing available state and the driver 34 is turned on to illuminate the display element 45 and display reproduction availability. Thus, the warmingup state can be displayed precisely.
