Abstract

PURPOSE: To automatically indicate the air contamination in an automobile in a stepwise manner by using a CO element, a transistor and an integrated circuit.
CONSTITUTION: With the battery 2 of an automobile, there are connected a CO element 1, a variable resistor 3, an amplifying transistor 4, constant voltage diodes 5W7, level detecting transistors 8W10, integrated circuits 11W13, display transistors 14W16, and lighting display diodes 17W19. Thus, the CO element 1 is heated by the battery 2 and is in contact with the air in the automobile so that an electromotive force is generated by the gases of CO component which are contained in the element 1. The electromotive force thus generated is amplified and is divided into three kinds of voltages of different amplitudes so that they are fed to the integrating circuits 11W13. When the fundamental voltage is reached, the display transistors 14W16 are turned on, and the display diodes 17W19 are lit so that the degree of contamination in the automotive air is displayed.
