Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent the stripping of refractory bricks and improve durability by constituting an immersion pipe for a vacuum degassing device of castable refractories provided to the inside and outside of a cylindrical mandrel and inner side refractory bricks, and supporting the refractory bricks to the mandrel by means of supportung bars.
CONSTITUTION: The immersion pipe of RH type, DH type vacuum degassing devices for molten metal such as molten steel is formed by forming castable refractory layers 30a, 30b on the inside and outside surface of a cylindrical mandrel 20 provided with flange parts 10 for mounting, and a refractory brick layer 40 is mounted on the inside surface of the inner castable refractory layer 30a. This mounting is accomplished by bringing supporting bars 50 projecting to the inside circumferential surface of the mandrel 20 into abutment on recesses 60 or notched part provided to the lowest brick layer 40a of the refractory brick 40, fixing these and laminating the refractory bricks thereon. The stripping of the refractories by the molten metal passing through the inside surface during the use is obviated and this pipe withstands long-term use.
