Abstract
PURPOSE:To provide a semicontinuous casting device for metals which is easy to repair when flawed by assembling a force cooling mold of 3 bodies, a mold body, a mold jacket and a ring member, and constituting the same as a mold. CONSTITUTION:A metallic molten metal receiving tank 2 made of refractories is mounted onto the force cooling mold 1 of this casting device. This mold 1 is constituted of a mold body 3, a mold jacket 4 and a ring member 5. In using this casting device, first the jacket 4 is mounted to a supporting body, after which the body 3 is inserted into the jacket 4, thence the member 5 is fitted onto the body 3 and the jacket 4. Next, the tank 2 is placed on the member 5 and the jacket 4 and are fastened, whereby these are assembled as a semicontinuous casting device. To exchange the mold 3 when its inside surface is flawed, the tank 2 is removed and the member 5 and the body 3 are removed, after which a new body 3 is fitted and assembled. It is possible to prevent the leakage of lubricating oil, pressurized gas and coolant by the effect of sealing members 13-15.
