Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent the breakage of a catalyst layer at that portion of a heating chamber inside wall surface onto which cooked matter frequently splashes and adheres by lining only the portion with an auto-clarifying type catalyst coating layer.
CONSTITUTION: A steel plate 25 coated on its both faces with an aluminum thin- film layer is used as the material for constructing a heating chamber, only the inside wall surface of the heating chamber is lined with vitreous enamel undercoat 26 for rust inhibition, and only that portion onto which oils frequently splash from cooked matter and adhere is lined with an auto-clarifying type catalyst coating layer 27, so as to reduce the heat capacity of the heating chamber. The heat-reflecting effect of the aluminum coating layer shortens the preheating time. Because the catalyst layer 27 is not present at that portion which contacts a door or the like, the breakage of the catalyst does not occur. Different from the case where the whole inside wall surface is lined with the catalyst layer, it is not necessary to so design that the whole inside wall is kept at a sufficiently high temperature (e.g. above 250°C) at which catalyst contamination occurs.
