Abstract
PURPOSE:To shorten the machining time of a rotary electric machine and to improve the cooling effect of a rotor by forming a rotor shaft by extruding superplastic metal material having preferable thermal transfer property, thereby facilitating the manufacture of a rotor shaft. CONSTITUTION:A superplastic metal material having preferable thermal conductivity is disposed in a mold, and is then extruded to form a rotor shaft 1. A hollow tube 4 made of other metal material may be buried in the center of the shaft 1. As the superplastic metal material may include 10-40% Zn-Al alloy, or a mixture of the alloy with metal such as Cu, Mg of 0.01-1.5%, and can be machined at the temperature of 120 deg.C-270 deg.C.
