Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain an inexpensive and highly practical optical circuit element, by laminating plural media containing an optical film having the prescribed characteristics on at least one of opposite two parallel planes and then giving a process to the external form of the lamination in accordance with the specifications of the optical axis. CONSTITUTION:Dielectric multilayer film interference filters 12a-12f having the prescribed optical characteristics are formed at the prescribed positions on a single plane of each of optical media 11a-11f composed of the BK-7 glass for instance and having the parallel planes polished optically. At the same time, the optical medium 11g is joined to the filter forming surface of the medium 11f. Then a block is cut out of such joined lamination according to the prescribed specifications. The lines connecting among the filters 12a-12f are defined as optical axes, and input/output ports 13b-13g are distributed at the input/output positions of light. Thus an optical circuit element is obtained. When multiplex beams are supplied from the port 13a, the branched beams are delivered through the ports 13b-13g to obtain a wave compounder through a reverse process. In such a way, an inexpensive and highly practical optical circuit element is obtained.
