Abstract
PURPOSE:To make constitution simple and performance high by using a prism block consisting of two rectangular prisms formed with multilayer film light band filters on their joining surfaces. CONSTITUTION:Main rectangular prisms 51-53 have a 45 deg. oblique angle, and are formed respectively with multilayer film light band filters 31-33 of mutually different reflection characteristics with respect to wavelengths on their slopes. Auxiliary rectangular prisms 61-63 which consist of the same material as that of the main rectangular prisms and have a 45 deg. oblique angle are combined in a pair with the main rectangular prisms. If these are installed as shown in the figure, and when an optical connector plug is inserted into a receptable 10, it results in that the light of mutually different wavelengths is selectively reflected and transmitted by the filters 31-33 and is branched into the respective receptacle 11-14. Here, narrow band optical fibers are shown by 71-74.
